Take Some Time To Explore The Florida Keys

The state of Florida has a lot to offer and you might be surprised with just how much there is to do once you head south of the Georgia line. For some people, a stop in Orlando is going to make up the bulk of their vacation and for others, they might enjoy the slow-paced life on the west coast. Although those are options you would want to consider, one that should not be left out of the mix is the Florida Keys.

The Keys are small islands to the south of Florida and they are an awesome choice for taking a vacation. In fact, you might enjoy the time you are spending in the area so much that you decide to call it home. It has happened more often than you probably realize, but you don’t need to move there to enjoy it.

If you are driving to the Keys from another state, you should be prepared for a long car ride. After you cross the Georgia line, it is going to take you about 7 hours before you even start to enter into the keys. That isn’t even to mention if you decide to go further and to enjoy the furthest key that is easily accessible, Key West.

When you first enter into the Keys, you might want to stop and stay a while. Life seems to slow down in those islands and people tend to be laid back and friendly. It certainly can be a welcome distraction from our typical life, which tends to be quite harried. You will also find a lot to do in those Keys, including plenty of water sports, fishing, snorkeling and swimming.

If you are feeling like sitting in the car for a while longer, you can make it further down through the Keys and land in Key West. Make the trip during the day; it is quite beautiful as you cross over the bridges. You will enjoy Key West, with a faster lifestyle but still laid back and casual. Try renting a scooter and make sure you visit Southern Most Point. You should also check out the sunset at the Wharf.

As you can see, the Florida Keys are well worth a visit. Try to pick one that matches your lifestyle and be prepared to have a great time. It is sure to be a vacation you will remember.
